Samco Mutual Fund (Samco Securities Limited) has launched a new fund offering ‘Samco Active Momentum Fund’, An open-ended equity scheme following momentum theme. The NFO will be open for subscription from June 15th, 2023 and will end on June 29th, 2023.

Within five Business Days following the date of allotment, the Schemes will reopen for continuous sale and repurchase. Subscriptions can be made starting at Rs. 5,000 and in multiples of Rs. 1/-. Both a Regular Plan and a Direct Plan are available.

Samco Active Momentum Fund NFO – Scheme Objective

The Scheme’s goal is to provide participants with long-term financial appreciation by investing in rapidly growing companies. Stocks with positive price momentum are those that tend to keep on performing better than other stocks, on the theory that winners will continue to outperform in the future and losers will continue to underperform.

This product is suitable for investors who are seeking*:

  • Long Term Capital Appreciation;
  • An actively managed thematic equity scheme that invests in stocks exhibiting momentum characteristics

How Will the Scheme Allocate Its Asset

  • 80-100% in Equity & Equity related instruments of momentum theme
  • 0-20% in Equity and Equity related securities of other Companies.
  • 0-20% in Debt and Money Market instruments

Where Will the Scheme Invest?

The Scheme may invest its funds in the following securities:

  • The corpus of the scheme shall be predominantly invested in equity and equity related instruments as may be permitted under the Regulations.
  • Equity Derivatives are financial instruments, generally traded on an exchange, the price of which is directly dependent upon (i.e., “derived from”) the value of equity shares or equity indices.(Futures and Options).
  • The Scheme may also invest in suitable investment avenues in foreign securities in overseas financial markets for the purpose of diversification, commensurate with the Scheme objectives and subject to necessary stipulations by SEBI / RBI.
  • The Scheme may, with the approval of SEBI / RBI, where required invest in:

i. ADRs/ GDRs issued by Indian or foreign companies

ii. Equity of overseas companies listed on recognized stock exchanges overseas

iii. Initial and follow-on public offerings for listing at recognized stock exchanges overseas.

  • Investment in Debt and Money Market Instruments such as Certificate of Deposit (CD), Tri-party Repo in Government Securities, Commercial Paper (CP), Repo / Reverse Repo and Treasury Bill (T-Bill).
  • Securities created and issued by the Central and State Governments as may be permitted by RBI, securities guaranteed by the Central and State Governments, Non-convertible debentures and bonds, Floating rate debt instruments, Tri-party Repo (TREPS) through CCIL, 
  • For the purpose of further diversification and liquidity, the Scheme may invest in another scheme managed by the same AMC or by the AMC of any other Mutual Fund without charging any fees on such investments, provided it is in conformity with the investment objectives of the Scheme and in terms of the prevailing SEBI Regulations.
  • Pending deployment of funds as per the investment objective of the Scheme, the funds may be parked in short term deposits of the Scheduled Commercial Banks, subject to guidelines and limits specified by SEBI.
  • The Fund Manager may invest in such any other security as may be permitted by RBI / SEBI from time to time and which are in line with the investment objectives of the Scheme.
