Bajaj Finserv Money Market Fund – NFO Dates, Scheme Features

Bajaj Finserv, which announced the launch of its mutual fund (MF) business recently is launching a new fund offering named “Bajaj Finserv Money Market Fund”, An open ended debt scheme investing in money market instruments with relatively low interest rate risk and moderate credit risk.

The NFO will be open for subscription from July 17th, and will end on July 20th, 2023. Scheme will re-open for continuous Sale and Repurchase within 5 Business Days from the date of allotment of units under NFO. Subscriptions can be made starting at Rs. 1000 and and in multiples of Re. 1/- thereafter. Both a Regular Plan and a Direct Plan are available.

About Bajaj Finserv Mutual Fund 

Bajaj Finserv, a well-known non-banking financial services company (NBFC), announced the debut of its new mutual fund business, dubbed ‘Bajaj Finserv Mutual Fund’. The newly launched Bajaj Finserv AMC is a subsidiary of Bajaj Finserv, which is the holding company for many financial services firms under the Bajaj Group and is headquartered in Pune, India. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) approved Bajaj Finserv in March of this year. 

Five new mutual funds have entered the industry since 2021, and Bajaj Finserv is one of the newly established fund companies in the Rs 40 trillion Indian mutual funds business. This new entry is the 43rd asset management business in the market, with about Rs 41.52 lakh crore in assets under management (AUM) as of April 2023.

Where Will the Scheme Invest?

The Scheme shall invest upto 100% of the total assets in money market instruments having a maturity of upto 1 year. The Scheme will retain the flexibility to invest in the entire range of money market instruments. 

  • Certificate of Deposits (CDs)
  • Commercial Paper (CPs)
  • Commercial bills
  • Treasury bills
  • Government securities having an unexpired maturity upto one year
  • Tri-party Repos on Government securities or treasury bills (TREPS)
  • Commercial usance Bills (Bills of exchange/promissory notes of public sector and private sector corporate entities) Rediscounting, usance bills and commercial bills.
  • Securities issued by banks (both public and private sector) including term deposit with the banks as permitted by SEBI/RBI from time to time, subject to approval from SEBI / RBI as required and development financial institutions.
  • Money market instruments permitted by SEBI/RBI
  • Derivative instruments like Interest Rate Future, Interest Rate Swap, Forward Rate Agreement and such other derivative instruments permitted by SEBI.
  • Units of Mutual Fund Schemes.
  • Repo transactions in corporate debt securities.
  • Any other domestic fixed income securities as permitted by SEBI/ RBI subject to requisite approvals from SEBI/RBI, if needed.
